The Story of State Line Resource Station, and NACHO the Cat, Who Started it All!
Nacho arrived at ZRC last summer and quickly won over staff and skaters. Ashley, the owner of ZRC reached out to Valentine, the owner of Kind Designs, in September 2024 to discuss creating a tshirt fundraiser to support the skate park keeping Nacho as a "park cat." One week after the shirt plan was made, Hurricane Helene hit western NC and eastern TN causing utter devastation.
Because they had been in touch about the Nacho Tshirt, Valentine had Ashley's number now and reached out to check on Ashley, who lives in an especially hard hit area. Knowing that side of town was desperate for help, she asked how the skate park handled the storm. Ashley said it had survived unscathed and a plan was made. With funds raised in the HELP WNC Presale, Valentine loaded up with supplies off the mountain and
met Ashley at ZRC on the morning of Oct. 1st to start State Line Resource Station.
For 3 months Ashley and Valentine both set their respective small businesses aside and ran State Line, along with a crew of loyal and hard working volunteers. They provided supplies, food, fuel, and resources to thousands across 11 counties and 3 states.
Today State Line Resource is still operating providing building supplies, recovery grants, and resources
to the High Country and beyond.

ZRC Skate and Kind Designs Printing have now reopened, and it's long over due that the original collaborative effort Valentine and Ashley had in mind, comes to fruition! This presale is to support both their businesses as they rebuild, and to support everyones favorite skating feline - Nacho. Cheers!
